Books Review: The Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi

It was not less than starting a journey a year ago when I first read the 'The Immortals of Meluha' - first of the three books on Bhagwan Shiv -first book of The Shiva Trilogy. An unknown author redefining him in a way of his own.

Bhagwan Shiv- an ordinary man born in remote areas far from India and searched by Indian to kill the Evil. But who is evil? This was the question Shiva want an answer for. Who is Good and who is Bad? Are they both sides of the same coin? All in this trilogy.

Shiva - the warrior, the dancer, the lover, a father and a great friend. But above all he is the saver of humanity. He is the one who kills evil.

His love for her wife, his big heart to remove the odds from society. His character to forgive, to punish and many more is written brilliantly by Amish.

I don't have enough words for this great story of Lord Neelkanth.

Just read them.

Great Books!!

Book Review - The Speed of Time by Sharad Nalawade

I put this book on the same shelf where I kept A Brief History of Time by Stephan Hawking. Both these books are similar from the aspect that both are written for the common man too understand the governing laws of nature and Physics.

Although, I took a long time to finish this book but this is not a boring science book. This book doesn't have any part which can't be understood easily (I am a Science student so it was not difficult for me but if you don't have a relationship with Science then you can also read this great book to easily understand the most difficult field of Physics.)

This covers almost all the major laws that govern the nature and the explanation of all those laws is done brilliantly with simple but logical examples. We except a lot of mathematical equations to define and explain the laws of Physics. But in this book the author doesn't use equations unnecessarily but he just explains everything with words.

The laws like - gravity, E=MC^2, relativity etc is nicely explained. I mean we all know these laws (from school) but the way these are explained here is very good. The gravity specially doesn't at all works in the sense as we all studied in school.
The praise for Srinivasa Ramanujan and his discoveries (a great Indian mathematician) is just great. I am just a fan of this great mathematician now.
The use of Maths in Physics and nature told to be very vital in this book but the paradoxes are also written very well. Take the following paradox which I liked most.

"The following statement is false."

"The above statement is true."

My rating for this book is 8/10 (I can't give 10 to any book). I recommend this to all who are interested in the workings of our World.

SACHIN TENDULKAR - God of Cricket

The God has retired

Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from One day Cricket. Though I am very sad to know this but I respect his decision. But this is surely a sad day for cricket, sad day for India, sad day for world.

We all know he had to retire one day. But we all were hoping it to be a grand day. We all deserve to hail him at least for one last time in the ground. All of us would be on our knees to see you play last time. We deserve that.

But, it was only you who could decide it. I respect that, we all respect  that.

Only GOD-SACHIN knows what is right and what is wrong.

I am lucky I have seen you play. It will be a pleasure to tell my children that story of GOD- story of SACHIN TENDULKAR.

Book Review- Myth=Mithya : A Handbook of Hindu Mythology by Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik

How many of you are Hindus and still know very less about the Hinduism and its history, moral values and many more things?
(I think everyone has Hindu Blood. We know the dates when all the other religion started to nourish themselves. But nobody know the date when Hindu religion started. This means that the ancestors of every human were Hindus.)

If you are one of those people who know very less and want to know more about the Hinduism then this is the book for you.

Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik did a brilliant job in writing this great book. He definitely deserve a standing ovation for doing this. He researched well and put the most important stories of history.

There are three chapters in the book which talks about Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and their wives.
The relation between the three Gods and the Goddesses can open the gates of enlightenment.
The Difference between God and gods is well explained. The gods are only to sustain the life cycle. They don't get Moksha. Humans are the one for whom the moksha is eveything. The world pleasures are also for the Humans.

The Goddess and her different forms has a story. You must read them.

But this book doesn't answer the questions like - Why do we exist? Who created God? Why God created this world? and many more.
This is not a negative point of this book. No Book and I mean NO BOOK can answer those questions.

I don't have anything bad to say  about this book. No a single word.

I can't rate this book. I am not  qualified enough to rate this GREAT BOOK.

Book Review : Now That You're Rich . . . Let's Fall In Love by Durjoy Datta, Maanvi Ahuja

Total Reading Hours: Not more than 12 hours.

My Ratings: 6/10

This is second book of the series by Durjoy Datta.

The story is about the four friends - Abhi, Shruti, Saurav and Garima.

They are from different cities and with different family backgrounds but one thing is common between them. All of them are loosers in love.

Abhi fell in love with a girl who love someone else. Shruti loved a boy who is not liked by her family because he's poor and they needed money. Saurav is rich, smart, IITian but nevere got loved. Garima - cheated by her boyfriend.

They all got a high paying job in college recruitment and they all land in Banglore and lot of thing happen after that.

They all find it very difficult to work from 9 to 9 - lot of work, less sleep, no parties. Only Sundays to have a complete sleep and to watch movies and do parties.

But as they are getting started to enjoy this they got parted into two groups. Abhi & Shruti allocated under Deb while Garima & Saurav allocated under Avantika (if you want to know about Deb & Avantika read the first book of the series). It is when Abhi & Garima realize what they think of each other.

But the recession hits and people got fired. This was the time when they learn a lot about their bosses and their secrets. They all fought with each other due to lot of misunderstandings.

Did they meet again? Did the keep their friendships alive in recession? What they did in the end?

Just read this book to know the answers. It is just an amazing story and you can't put it down until you finish it.
